I am going to try not to ignore you again.

So, I am in Baton Rouge. So is Pete. And 4 of our animals. This is a great chance. We are working together and kicking ass. It is also great being in town and seeing everyone even though we haven't been able to actually see anyone, lol. We get to see people spontaneously.

The job will last to December or until 2011. Wide margin huh?

Tonight, we are going to buy me a gun.
In a month I am getting the Lasik eye surgery.
Next up? Pete is getting a Harley.

Kicking ass and taking names, lol.

Now, if I could just get some sleep I will be rocking!

Time to be thankful

Last week, Glenn Ray was in town and he came over for dinner. It was nice to catch up with my old boss. So much has changed. RTC is finally a success. He is traveling to Hawaii and The Cayman Islands and just enjoying reaching his goal.
Last night, The Redden's came in for the evening. They crashed here on their way to Kentucky. After Pete cooked up another fabulous bbq, everyone went to their rooms except Chris and I. We watched a movie that we remembered 15+ years ago that we found at his parent's home. Hillbillie's In A Haunted House. It was rather stupid but a lot of it made us a laugh and just spend the evening singing and cutting up. Olive got attacked by my cats. Poor Olive.

This morning, I woke up with a different mind set. This year has been hard on many people. Many great times and many sad times. It has been rough on me, I am not going to pretend like it hasn't. But the one thing, that I can say is that I am thankful that I made it. With wonderful friends and family - near and far - I have never felt alone. I have a loving husband that puts up with all my craziness. I am the crazy cat lady in the cul-de-sac that comes home to little furry creatures that are so happy to see me.

This Thanksgiving we will be staying here and going to Christy's mom's house. We are doing this so that we can be home for a week at Christmas. During this time, be thankful for your surroundings. You may not have the best job, but you have one. Hug your kids, animals, loved ones and be thankful that you have them in your life. I know I love my peeps!

Well, it has been a month. Wow, I guess I am more involved with work and looking at everyone's pics on my space. I am so sorry LJ!

Let's see, well Casey and Emily came and stayed with us for 5 days. We had a great time. We celebrated Jason's birthday and Anna's birthday.

Pete loves his job.
I hate mine.

Christy and I are leaving for Biloxi on Sunday. Mom has 2 rooms at the Beau Rivage. Angela is riding with Mom. It will be a fun little girl's trip. I wish I could leave now.

Jakub is doing fabulous. He is holding his head up, hanging on to his hairbrush, his bottle - he weighs like 13-14 pounds. He is an ox just like his Dad. I love him so much and miss him every day.

Chase loves high school. Yes, he is in high school.

September will be busy. Pete will be going to Gatlinburg with his Dad, brother, and step brother.
Chris and Marylee come in for Chris's birthday weekend. It will be full of cemetery touring and civil war stuff. I can't wait.
Pete's birthday is at the end of September. We are either going to Chattanooga or Nashville.

We know that we are going to come home at Christmas. We still aren't sure about Thanksgiving.
I do miss everyone. It is just crazy right now.

We are also redoing the guest bathroom. I have a honey do list a mile long for Pete.

My garden this year was fabulous. I want to make it even bigger for next year though.

Time to get back to work.

Love y'all!

This is such a fabulous, lovely, happy, exciting, fantastic, freaking awesome day.

I have cards everywhere. I got one from all the cats and Lucy. I got two from Pete. He rocks.
I got to work and I have a tiara and fabulous matching earrings. I also have some big white glasses that say happy birthday with candles on them. Also, they are rose colored lenses. GAWDY? No, this is me you are reading about.

I am leaving work at noon. I have to go run by the DMV and give them $200 for my birthday. I love the fact that your tag expires on your birthday, lol. Then, I head home. Rosie is cleaning the entire house. Myfina went to the vet yesterday and got shaved. Today, Lucy, Cleo, and OC go to get their shots.

Tonight? We are going down to Atlantic Station. We are going shopping at the new H & M Store. I am so glad I live in a big city. I get to go to shops that they don't have anywhere close to back in Baton Rouge. Then we are going to dinner down there. I know what you are thinking, wait - no big party - is Shug now slowing down? Hell to the no! See, we are going home next week. It will be a cluster filled usual blurr of a weekend but I have a nephew to meet. Bubba is throwing a birthday party for me and Mom on that Saturday. Friday, we will be in Chackbay. I will be partying for the next 2 weeks. Plus, I don't want to get my freshly cleaned house dirty. Selfish? Yes, it is my birthday. :)

I got pictures of Debbie and Nick's baby boy Riley. Boy, is he beautiful. They both looked so happy. I am glad for them.

Oh and I have loved my phone calls and texts today. Pete's Mamaw and Papaw called and sang to me. His Uncle Randall called and promised me boiled crabs next Friday. His family really is good to me. I can since I am the black sheep of the family they appreciate that.

Well, I hope all of you have as lovely of a weekend as I plan on having.
Well, all is well at the homestead.
Jakub is ruling the house. Tereza's sister Barbara came in to help until the 4th of July. She suprised them all Friday night by announcing that she is 2 months pregnant. So, she is sick and not much help, lol. Mom said that Jakub is beautiful. That says a lot because you know how mom is. She said that his skin is perfect and he is healthy as can be. She had her first doctor's appointment yesterday and the doctor fussed her for feeding Jakub every time he cries. Chase is apparently the best big brother. He has been teaching everyone about babies. He was supposed to go to Houston but Daphne said that gas it too expensive - WTF? But, Tereza has help and he is happy to help. Let's just hope that works stays busy and Bubba doesn't have to go to Iowa.

All is well at our home. Our peach tree got a funky disease so I have no peaches to share but the garden is doing great. I have been enjoying it a lot more lately. A lot has been funky but nothing worth getting into and it doesn't have anything to do with Pete and I.

I am in the midst of my birthday countdown. We are on day 10 and I will be 34 next Friday! I am not sure what I want to do. Normally, I have it all planned. However, we are coming home the next weekend. I am at a loss. We may just go out to dinner or go play on the lake or something.

My salad is ready so I am going to go eat now.

Sadness in the Ward Family again

Back in January, I posted a story about Sonja Ward. She used to work here. She passed away in a car accident. Larry, her husband, has been having a hard time dealing with all of this but making it day by day which we would all understand. Well, Tuesday evening, Larry's only son was killed. Apparently he was leaving his house and he jumped out the car that his boyfriend was driving. He apparently tripped and his boyfriend ran over him and he died. Ashton was 23 years old. His boyfriend Eric is 25. Larry tried to make it to the hospital in time but by the time he got the phone call, it was too late and Ashton was gone. My heart breaks for this man. He has been through so much in 5 months.

Wow...I couldn't imagine losing my significant other and child nor could I imagine the pain that Eric is going through. It just makes me want to go home and hug Pete.

So I suck at updating this thing. I used to be so much better.

First off, Pete is feeling great. After 2 surgeries and a lot of healing, he is back to his old self. I am so happy to have my husband back...

We have had tons of changes at work. It is getting more difficult to deal with but I am looking to stay until hopefully early July. If I can't last until then, so be it. Oh yeh, the guy Pete quit because of, got fired two weeks ago. Karma is a bitch. And I love her.

Pete has a fabulous new job. My husband is happy. I haven't said anything work related about him and the word happy in a while. He loves it and he was approached by an insurance company he did work with to come to work for them. He is swapping the fence in this industry and I am so pleased. They will be putting him through school to get all of his licensing. They are so good to him and is has reinstated his self esteem and confidence.

Mom came in for Mother's day. It was the best trip yet. I say that each time, lol. We shopped for new purses and jewelry. Then we went to Trader Joe's and bought a case of 2 1/2 buck chuck wine. Christy and Jason came over and we grilled and played. Mother's Day we went to 3 nurseries and Mom and I drove out to Lake Lanier. Monday, we woke up and went and had manicures and pedicures. There is this place in L'ville that is called the Polished Nail. Cute name right? Well, it is lovely. It is a little Asian place but not like your Wal-Mart or Ann's Nails. We walked in and they had just started playing Mother In Law on the big Plasma screen. We drank mimosas while they were doing our toes. They wrapped your hands and arms in this little heating blankets after they drinched them in lotion. We were so spoiled. The cost for all that heavenly happines - $50 for both of us. I cannot wait to go back! Then, we met Linda Lou at the Piccadilly. We then made our normal stops, Garden Ridge and Old Time Pottery. We have a truck load of shit to bring back to Mom. We also had a long talk about her moving up here in 5 years. We want to add on to the house and make a mother in law suite and then she can just live in it and sell her house.

Last week was busy inbetween Mom leaving and Pete working late with all the tornado stuff. Tereza also graduated last week. Let me tell you, my sis in law may drive me crazy but the girl has motivation. She graduated from BRCC last week taking 2 online classes and 2 classes at the school. She made the Dean's List and graduated with honors. I am proud of her. I have no idea how she works full time, went to school, and never missed one of Chase's ball games. She has skills. My nephew is due in less than a month now. I can't believe it and I am so excited!!!!

We had a very productive weekend. Friday however, I drank Merlot and ate sushi that my husband brought home and was asleep by 930. But Saturday I made up for it. We ran to Lowe's and went on a shopping spree. We bought a new bird bath and a new fountain. We picked up plants and all sorts of crap. Then we went to Garden Ridge and bought new outdoor furniture for the yard and for the deck. Then, we got home and started moving stuff around and throwing stuff away. Then, Bernie and Anna and the kids came over with the tiller. I have a garden! A real garden too not like my old one that was in pots. I have veggies and fruit and peppers and it is going to be super yummy. Bernie had to use the tiller though because Pete isn't quite ready for it. Pete cooked for everyone and we sat around talking until 1230.

Yesterday, we finished planting in the garden. Of course I ran back to the store and bought more plants. Once we finished repotting and situating stuff, we went inside to get cleaned up. The Greek Festival was yesterday. George and Maria were so happy to see us. Like ususal, they were working the beer tavern. Like usual, we had too much wine and beer. Plus, George brought out some Greek brandy, Ourzo, and cigars. The food was yummy. The shopping was a little disappointing. Not as much as last year and nothing really fun. We picked up a couple of rings to add to our addiction. Pete has probably 15 silver rings now.

Now I am at work and have to get to it. Take care and I will be home around the 4th of July! Much love to everyone!

You know, I am getting tired of mood swings that are brought upon me without any ability to stop them.

Read on, you'll see why.

Friday, great day. Came home, not so good feeling. Allergy season! By Friday night, I was bitter. I went to CVS and after giving them my license, first born, right arm, and good kidney - they gave me Claritin.

Saturday, no party at Elizabeth's because I am sick. Elizabeth and Shannon are upset. I can't help it. My nose looked like Rudolph. Saturday afternoon, Claritin has kicked in and I feel better. Saturday evening, April shows up. Yes, April! She, Brad, Ridge, Preston, and Brad son's Devin come in. Devin lives in Savannah and they were bringing him home so they decided to come spend the night. Pete grilled, drank too much, and pissed me off. April and I gossiped until 230 in the morning.

Sunday, I am still pissy at Pete. April and I dye 2 dozen Easter eggs. We had so much fun. My mood is improving. April and the gang hit the road and we head out for Christy and Jason's. We show up with JoJos baked beans just in time. We ate a wonderful Easter lunch. Then, the kids went in and we began to hide eggs. I got pissed at Marissa's 23-year old son because he stole money out of my plastic eggs. Marissa called him and he had to come back. Bastard. So, we hide eggs - 97 of them to be exact. We sat around the fire watching the kids run everywhere. Then, they brought out the fireworks. It was so much fun. This year, we blew up the real eggs. If you want to see it snow, put a black cat inside of a boiled egg. We came home and Pete and I talked. I felt better and my night ended well.

Fast forward to yesterday. Big meeting - Heather, you have to let 7 people go in the next week. Who are these 7 people? People who have been here for 10+ years. I am drained and I have only done two. It is hard. It is sad. I hate it, I hate it.

Now, I called Christy and have decided that tomorrow - we are heading back to her house after we get some work done at ours. I have to get our taxes done. It isn't like we have to pay - we are getting back money and we haven't had the time to get all of our receipts together. So, once that is done, we are heading to their house and I plan on having a cocktail. I am drained. I am tired. I just need to be around people who will make me laugh.

Ray's On The River

What a weekend!!!!

Friday, we celebrated our rough week. It beat the shit out of us. We went shopping for a new outfit for me. I didn't have anything that I thought was cute. Se we shopped at Kohl's and I found a fabulous outfit and Pete also suprised me with a new purse. So, then we ate sushi (it is lent) and went home and got wasted. We stayed up talking and drinking until almost 4 in the morning. I felt like I was in college, lol.

Saturday, I slept in until noon - imagine that. We got up and finished what little laundry we had. Pete built the two cabinets for the den that we bought at IKEA - we finished the kitchen island and it looks fabulous - bless the IKEA!!! Anyway, we played around the house until it was time to get ready. Christy and Jason made dinner reservations at Ray's On The River. None of us had ever been. We got all fixed up, drove out there, and the place was beautiful. We valet parked and sat in the lounge sipping on cocktails. They had the best pomegranite martini I have ever had. Then, we were seated and had a lovely dinner. We shared a yummy key lime pie slice and then walked around the outside of the place by the river. Had it not been so cold, we would have stayed longer. They had just turned off the fire pit outside that was full of glass so it looked like the fire was burning in water.

Sunday, we got up - Pete had his coffee and I had my green tea. I am addicted to my green tea. Non-caffeine pomegranite green tea - do you see a pomegranite likeness yet? We picked up the new crown molding for the bathroom and I painted it while Pete painted the baseboards. It is taking several coats since the base what white and we are going with this dark espresso color. I made us a lovely mediterranean dinner and we worked on the bathroom for the remainder of the evening.

This week, it is crazy. I am trying to get a bunch of stuff done before I fly out this weekend. I am flying home on Friday. Angela is picking me up in New Orleans. I am coming home to go with Mom and Ang to see Paula Deen in New Orleans. We are going to spend the day Saturday in New Orleans and then Sunday, Mom and I are spending the day together. I am not really coming home to visit with anyone else. No one else really even knows that I am coming in. I do not mean to be rude, but I am so limited on my time with my Mom. There are a lot of things that she and I have been wanting to accomplish while I was home and haven't been able to. Now, I will. I will fly out Monday morning and then head back to work.

It has been awhile since I have posted. I can't get on here like I used to. There is so much going on.

Mardi Gras

One word - fabulous! I posted pics on My Space. I had a great time in the section I was in. Mary and Val were a trip. Mrs. Margaret's party was fun as hell. Ned came to visit, lol. Pete made it to the party and then passed out. We went to Michael's to see Mr. Neil stuck in the yard. We had a great time in Thibodaux. We had a great time there and we missed the rain. We stayed down there on Sunday night and left early Monday morning.

Christy Update

My friend Christy had radiation the week before Mardi Gras. She was fighting thyroid cancer. She got the results back the day before her birthday - SHE IS CANCER FREE!!!! She had the best birthday ever. She and her husband me when they were 16 and 17 at a roller skating rink in a little down in Indiana. He also proposed to her there when he was 18. Well, for her 38th birthday, he rented out a roller rink for just her and her friends. We had a full bar and pizza. Ok, it has been a long time since I have been on roller skates. Deb and I had our fun in Dallas with rollerblades but not roller skates. Well, let me tell you - wanna test how out of shape you are - get on some freaking skates. Oh, and add liquor to the mix. We had a ball though. We made a cd for her that we played. We ended the night with Xanadu!

O.C.

Last week, we had a terrible scare. My black cat that we rescued here, O.C., almost died. She ended up with pancreitis. She spent 3 nights at the vet. Thank goodness, she got to come home Saturday and she is doing better and better. I am so blessed by my beautiful children.

Oh, and my car sound like it belongs to an 18-year old boy. It sounds good, don't get me wrong. But when Pete turns it up (with the box o' speaker and woofer in the trunk), people turn and look at me. Oh my.

Well, have a great week.

I am just happy.

Let's see, my sister in law is having a boy. His name is Jakub, after her grandfather. They are both doing great.

I am going to see The Cure for my birthday! I am so excited. There is a group of us going. I was jamming to them on YouTube when Al came in and told me that they are coming into town around my birthday. A couple of purchases later, we have tickets on June 15th! I am so excited.

Work has been a lot better this week. My payroll went perfectly this week. I had two interviews that weren't stupid.

Now, we are about to leave to get a new stereo for my car. Pete is going to install everything before we come home.

And we are coming home for Mardi Gras on Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to finish working on our new pimp cups.

I am so blessed.

It snowed!

I know I haven't posted much lately. A lot has been going on and I have just chosen to deal with them as they come along.

We let some people go from work. Some I truly liked, some I truly didn't. That is the part of my job that I will never get used to. Looking someone in the eyes and telling them that you don't need them anymore is hard. See, I do have a soft spot left.

I have also been refocusing my life after Sonya passed away. It truly did something to me in a sense of changing my life forever. I am not just saying being more focused on the road. I am. Pete and I spend the night at friend's homes now instead of driving late in the bad weather when there is black ice. But a lot has changed towards my attitude toward people. I don't want to live with any regret in my life.

Anyway...

We are almost done on the remodeling of the half bath on the main floor. I am so happy. We should be accessorizing it by this weekend. It was a great project for Pete and I to do together. We will now move on to the other 2 bathrooms upstairs after Mardi Gras.

My girlfriend Christy has radiation this Wednesday for her thyroid cancer. We went to see them this weekend. We shopped for lots of stuff that is disposable. She has to throw everything away. The people at Wal-Mart thought one of us were going off to college. I told them yes and how quickly she grew up and now she is on her way to UGA. Really, she will be confined to a room for 10 days with no visitors. It is like iscolating in prison but you don't get the one hour a day in the yard. I brought her a bunch of happies. We had cocktails and a great dinner. I also bought her a Studs for the Cause calendar. It is so Texas Club Male Stripper Wednesday night but it is hilarious. We decorated her walls with them and bought her a ton of magazines to read. I also brought her about 15 movies to watch and 5 books and a yoga dvd that we were doing.

It snowed twice last week. Saturday, it snowed for about 12 hours. It was beautiful. I made a snow angel for the first time which actually looked like a crawfish. I would say that I will post pics, but I will forget, lol.

We will be home soon for Mardi Gras. I can't believe it is so early. I am also bummed that we won't get to have a Super Bowl party because it is the weekend of Mardi Gras. I can't wait to see any/all of you who come to Spanish Town. Call me on my cell.

Have a fabulous one!

Nothing crazy - something I do everyday.

I am in such a state of shock. She is in a better place though. It looks like I am driving the whole way, yucky!

Ok, here is a breakdown of the plan for this weekend:
Tonight - Angela's, of course - if Pete feels well enough, he is going to Chickapee
Saturday - Mom's until 2 or 3. April is driving in and we are going to see Chris. Lunch or dinner has to be at Albasha
Sunday - Pete and I are heading to see the godchildren for the day. Sunday night, dinner with the gang.
Monday - head to Chickapee
Monday night - midnight mass
Tuesday - Christmas Brunch at JoJos and it is time to hit the road to come home.

Rough and non stop? Yes. But we will be at our home with our girls on Christmas night. We are going to swap presents then and have a cocktail by the fire. It will be worth it.

If I get to see you, yeh!!! If not, please understand that this is how our trips home go now. I will be back for Mardi Gras in February and then after that, it will be awhile until we come home again. But we will always welcome visitors! Me, Bubba, and Pete also got drunk off of jager bombs and pumpkin beer. Good times.

LSU lost - boy, Chase was pissed.

I got a Tom Tom for $120.00 - thank you Best Buy customer for waiting in line since 10 am on Thursday to get your ticket at 5 am on Friday and not going to pick it up - WTF? Anyway, their loss is my gain!

Pete and I went out with a group Saturday. Now, it has been awhile since Pete and I could both get drunk. He was off of call and Jason drove 11 of us out. What a night. We danced until our legs hurt, drank too much, I tripped down the bar stairs (missed the last 2) and sprained my ankle. It was priceless. We came home and ordered pizza and continued partying until we all passed out. We relived college is what it felt like.

We are trying to work out Christmas right now. We may be travelling home on Christmas Day. Everyone is bummed but it might be nice to spend Christmas night in front of our tree sipping on egg nog. We will come in on Friday and stay until Wednesday so I will still get to see my peeps.

Lil Shug - out!

Yep, that is my quote for the weekend. That and barking like a dog with a little soulja boy mixed all up in it.

This had to have been one of the best weekends I have had in years.

Friday, Ang met me up here around 12. Linda and Neil joined us for lunch at the train station. Thanks for the lunch Neil! Then, we went shopping. First, we bought probably 20 purses. Then we headed for the jewelry store. Ang said it was for Christmas presents but once we got home, she decided to keep most of it for herself. I got Jenn a purse to congratulate her for getting into LSU's MBA program. Once we left, we were exhausted and had to head home. We then had several pomegranite martinis and headed to the Pie Bar. We then began drinking zintinis - OMG - they are fabulous. I have to figure out how to make them. We left here all drunk and full. We passed out as soon as we got home.

Saturday, we woke up and started making sangria for the tailgate. Well, it turned into a L'il Shug concotion. And it was 10 gallons of fabulousness! We got to Athens and began drinking and partying heavily. I would post some pics but I don't remember how, lol. We dressed in all black and showed our Georgia pride. It was rather amusing seeing grown adults barking. We were drunk and joined in. On our drunk stumble back to the truck, Angela stated the quote of the weekend. As we were crossing the cross walk and we had the white stick figure a glowing - no bright red hand telling us to stop - and a man comes flying across the street. Angela then shreaks at him and he locks up. The 25 of us crossing couldn't quit laughing. We then about lost it when we saw the poor guy trying to guide his wasted girlfriend up the hill to their vehicle. She was all drunk and staggering crying at how she couldn't walk anymore and that if he loved her he would stop torturing her. Yep, we have all been there. We then sang 80s rap the rest of the way home. Then, we continued drinking and we learned how to do the soulja boy. Talk about funny. After we 2-stepped all over the basement and re-inacted our own Mickey video, we were starving. Pete drove us to the Red Robin. Those are great pics. We had the table displays on our heads. The waitress was ignoring us. I can't say that I blame her. Then, we went home and you guessed it - we passed out.

Sunday, we headed to the pumpkin patch. It was a beautiful drive up through the North Georgia Mountains. The lack of water in the creeks and lakes couldn't even get to us since the trees were fabulous. We played and played in the pumpkin patch and ended up with 2 wheel barrows and a basket full of happies. My front yard display is fabulous! We then went to the farmer's market which made Angela weep. She shopped and shopped to the point that we had to pack all of that in a separate box for her to take home. She bought so much crap, lol. We then got stuff for kabobs and headed home. Pete grilled and we sat outside by the chimenea rocking away on the swing. It was like she lived next door. We ate and went downstairs and sipped on cocktails while downloading music to burn to cds for her. We then went upstairs and crawled up on the couch to chat and watch Sue Johansson. She is so trashy but the people that call in are freaking hilarious. We then both got funky about her leaving. It was well after midnight and we were tipsy. So, we crawled up on the couch and fell asleep. Pete through a blanket over us and turned out the light.

This morning, ooh it was early - the alarm went off at 445. We got dressed, stopped for coffee and headed to the airport. I thought I was going to cry. Then, I looked at Angela and remember how she came with one bag and now she was leaving with a box, a huge suitcase, and that bag as her carry on. I just sat there and laughed. Pete gave me a kiss and reminded me that I will see her in a month and that Mom and the gang will be here next week. Oh shit! Thanksgiving is in a freaking week! Focus now - I have a bunch of shit to do. I have Mom and Chase flying in on Monday and Bubba with his PREGNANT AND HORMONAL wife coming in on Wednesday!!!!

Have a great week peeps!

This morning
